The conference shed much light on the Government’s commitment in promoting language learning in Victoria. Mr Chris Thompson also explained the reasons for the government making languages education a priority and the need for quality and consistent teaching in language schools.

Government targets are:

–          By 2015 – 100% of all Prep students in schools learning language.

–          By 2025 – 100% of all Year 10 students learning a language.

–          By 2025 – 25% of all senior secondary students (VCE) learning a language.

It is great to know that the Government has placed a Priority on Language Learning in Australia and they emphasis the important role that community languages school play this priority issue.
